Located in the historic town of Rochford in Essex, Skewer House Casa Das Espetadas is a established family run restaurant specializing in the traditional Portuguese dishes, Espetada. Originally from Madeira, as a family we have been in the restaurant business for many years. Espetada is the Portuguese style used for the technique of cooking beef, chicken, lamb, pork, vegetables and halloumi cheese on skewers, typically on a bay leaf stick cooked over hot coals or wood chips. We don’t only serve, we also offer a generous selection on starters, sides, sauces and homemade desserts. Skewer House is a family orientated restaurant, catering for children too. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly, traditionally Madeiran restaurant where everyone is welcome.

Our team of staff are friendly, experienced and passionate about what we do and the food we serve. We regularly visit Billingsgate and Smithfield markets in London to ensure all our meat and fish is as fresh as can possibly be. Our biggest aim is to make customers feel comfortable and given a dining experience to remember.
