Located on the banks of the River Stort in Harlow, Parndon Mill was formerly a flour mill. Now a talented and diverse community of artists, craftspeople, designers, creative activity and architects occupy thirty studios where they share ideas and use their different skills to collaborate on creative work. Several of the artists exhibit and market their work internationally.
Creative Activity In Essex
Workshops and classes are held in the studios and also in The Project Space, an airy, well equipped room which can also be hired for arts-related activities, meetings and talks. Classes in a wide variety of arts and crafts suit complete beginners along with those who want to develop their talents further. Glassblowing is particularly popular. The Gallery at Parndon Mill plays an active part in Harlow’s community, promoting the arts through a dynamic programme of exhibitions. The annual Glasshaus show is a highlight, featuring artists at the forefront of working in glass. There is always an array of paintings, original prints and crafts to be seen here.
