Located in Harlow, the museum is based in the former stable block of Mark Hall Manor house. It is home to the town’s archive dating from prehistoric times, through the development of Harlow New Town right up to the present day. Discover Harlow’s history by seeing and touching objects and trying on costumes from the past. Particular highlights include archaeological discoveries from Harlow’s Roman Temple site. The Fascinating display of objects and memorabilia are housed in five galleries within a 19th century stable block of Mark Hall Manor. The Museum is also home to Mark Hall Gardens, a series of four beautifully landscaped gardens open for everyone to explore. Harlow Museum and Walled Gardens are catered for visitors in wheelchairs and we offer access to disabled restroom facilities. Please take care during your travels around the area as some pathways in the gardens aren’t always completely level. We offer car parking for the disabled which is available on request in the courtyard. Assistance dogs are welcome, but we do not otherwise allow dogs.
